Bob kicked off the meeting at 1:00 with Suzy, Lynn, Bill, Tim, Mary, and Scott on hand.
Bob reported a balance of $974.81 in the NAPC treasury. This prompted a discussion regarding how to make use of this money with suggestions such as:
- Pay for each member’s holiday dinner
- Subscribe to an online photo/camera education service
- Pay admission costs for a field trip opportunity (i.e., a flower show)
- Put funds aside for web site renewal in November.
Lynn won our Monthly Photo Contest (subject: Signs of Spring) with her image titled “Nothing Says Spring Like Yellow Forsythia.”
Next was the monthly Edit Challenge.
Bob suggested we consider a “Live Group Editing Exercise” as part of our monthly activities. This idea was well received and will be part of our June agenda.
Next, Suzy made a presentation titled “Macro on the Cheap” which proved to be both informative and entertaining.
Bob led a discussion of Photo Genre Typical Setups. Included was a handy spreadsheet with suggested camera settings for Birding, Animal, Sport, Motor Sports, and Kids/Pet photography.
Next, “Out of Comfort Zone Plans” was briefly discussed with Tim and Mary tentatively opting to work on a Photographic Travel Log.
The subject for June’s Photo Contest is “Macro.”
Bill will be the moderator for June with Clay as his wingman.
