October 14th 2017 – Sugar Hill Field Trip

The field trip began at 3 PM
Attendees: Bob T., Mary W., Karina, Scott, Mary M. and Gary M., Laura Anne, John F., Susan B., Ellen and Tim W.
The weather cooperated with a beautiful day and we began our field trip from the parking lot of Polly’s Pancake Parlor.
From here we progressed by car-pooling up Rt. 117 past several photo sites and into Sugar Hill Village, then back along Lover’s Lane for the great views. Further down 117 again to Coffin Pond where John once more wowed us with his Monet Effect shots. Back up the hill finally for sunset shots along Easton Road.
At 6:30 most of us went to dinner together at Chang Thai Restaurant in Littleton. Here we enjoyed good food and great fellowship before staggering home around 8 PM.
All in all a great outing, which we must do again soon.
Plans for our next regular meeting in November include a showcase of members’ best photos from the field trip, and the first in a series of talks about using Lightroom – with some live demos of editing. We will also begin a comparison of Lightroom, ON1 Photo Raw and the Topaz Suite, which will continue over the following two meetings. The goal is to enable members to choose a post-processing platform to purchase and use. We can then delve deeper into its use beginning with basic editing.
