Minutes of ANAPC Meeting Sat. November 11th
Present: Bob T, Scott M, Mary W and Tim Williams
The meeting began at 1:10 PM.
There was a brief discussion comparing our website (NotchAbovePhotoClub.com) and Meetup. Tentative plans are to discontinue Meetup next year because our website now has all the functionality we need (thanks to Scott!).
Scott then presented an Adobe video on-line, demonstrating how to do basic post-processing in Lightroom. Everyone agreed the video was very clear and helpful.
Scott demonstrated editing one of his photos using Lightroom. This step by step presentation helped everyone better understand the hows and whys of post-processing. We also briefly revisited the reasons to consider shooting and post-processing in RAW.
Scott then gave us an update on new improvements to the website, including a very neat function that automatically zooms in and out on photos you upload to the website – really making them “come alive”.
Tim handed out a PowerPoint summary about Lightroom and briefly discussed what LR can and cannot do, comparing it to other post-processing programs, and how to purchase them.
Our next meeting is Saturday, Dec. 9th. We will revisit LR editing and also present a demo of editing using ON1 Photo RAW. Following this, members will have a chance to edit their own photos using either (or both) programs on Scott’s and Mary’s laptops – so be sure to bring a couple of your favorite photos to learn how to make them even better!
