A Notch Above Photography Club
Minutes
November 13, 2021

The meeting kicked off at 1:00 with the following members on hand: Bill, Joe, Bob, Tim, Mary, Mike, Brooke, and Scott.

The first 30 minutes was spent in free discussion while we enjoyed coffee, brownies, and cookies.

Bob reported a balance of $453.81 in the club treasury.

Bill and Scott were co-winner’s of the NAPC monthly photo contest.  Members did a great job capturing the many vivid colors present in the NH’s autumn landscape.  Kudos to one and all.

Scott showed digital paintings by Photoshop artist Bert Monroy. Members were amazed by the photo like quality and detail of Bert’s work, in particular the 750,000 layer image titled “Times Square.”

Next, Scott showed a series of renowned photographs and members discussed such factors such as social impact, emotional impact, and historical significance.  This presentation ended with a discussion of Robert Frank’s famous image, “The Trolley.”

Bill presented information about FastStone Image Viewer 7.5, a freeware program.  Faststone supports all graphics formats, to include camera raw.  This program would be especially useful to those members new to post processing.

Tim will research dates for a NAPC Christmas dinner with Colatina Exit in Bradford being a possible venue.

The topic for the December photo contest will be fine art (photo art).

Bob will be moderator for our December 11th meeting.
