A Notch Above Photography Club
Minutes
May 13, 2017

Attendees: Scott, Karina, John, Mary, Ali, Tim, Bob Thibault, Dave & Zach
New members: John Foster & Dave Sordi
Alison presided over the meeting and welcomed new members. Members read the minutes of the last meeting and no corrections or additions were made.
Scott gave us an update on the website that he is developing for the club, including the ability to post blogs. It is almost finished, and is actually available now to review. The address is: witcherbrook.com/development
Zach gave a presentation about depth of field using his camera, connected to the computer, to illustrate his talk on the big TV screen. He talked specifically about depth of field in landscape photography and portraiture. Because he was not able to finish his talk, he will continue with part 2 at the June meeting on June 10th.
We then enjoyed reviewing everyone’s photos of “Early Spring”.
Alison suggested that we have the next meeting as a field trip to take photos of the lupine which should be in bloom. It was decided that because both the weather and the actual opening of the blossoms is somewhat unpredictable she would send out an email when the blossoms are out and good weather is expected and suggest a weekend time and location to meet.
In addition to Part 2 of Zach’s talk, Dave volunteered to give a presentation on achieving the “Monet Effect” in photography at the June meeting. Our “Show & Tell” segment will be open to any type of photo that members wish to show. We also will be reviewing how we want to organize the club since we have now had a few meetings. Tim passed out a list of the various tasks that need to be done at meetings and between meetings, as well as different organizational models. We’ll review these over the next month and discuss the organization of our club at the June 10th meeting.
