February 8, 2020

The meeting kicked off at 1:00 PM with the following members present: Joe, Bill, Bob, Tim, Mary, Barbara, Scott, Ron, and Bill.  Attending her first meeting was Pam.

Activities were as follows:

Member introductions.

Treasurers Report – Bob indicated a club balance of $345.42

Stephen Dignazio, manager of the Colonial Theater in Bethlehem, is interested in displaying our photo contest winners in the concession window of the theater.  Members agreed to do this, and Tim will contact Stephen in March about showing the photos for a month later this year.

Members voted to resolve any tie in Photo Contest voting with a runoff.

A runoff vote for the Jan-Feb Photo Contest with topic: Churches resulted in yet another tie between  Tim (Sugar Hill Church) and Ron (Saint Savior Episcopal Church).  Members agreed no further runoff voting was needed.

Members agreed that those submitting an entry in the Photo Contest would discuss their photo after voting is complete, letting the photo “tell the story” initially.

The Photo Contest topic for Feb – Mar will be Beautiful Food.

Tim provided information regarding Long Exposure photography complete with Powerpoint slides and a handout.  Thanks, Tim!

Scott presented a discussion of Levels and Curves with Powerpoint slides and used live demonstrations in Photoshop.

We are in contact with Brenda Petrella, a well known professional photographer from VT and hope to have Brenda as a guest speaker perhaps in June.  Brenda has a prolific presence on Youtube with over 20,000 followers.  Members were enthusiastic about having Brenda as a guest speaker and Scott will communicate with her to iron out certain details.

Club organizers expressed appreciation for the sizable turnout despite the harsh weather conditions.

The meeting adjourned at 3:30.

Topics for the March meeting include “ON1 Masks & Selections” and “Advanced Composition”.
