A Notch Above Photography Club
Minutes
November 8 2025
Bill began the meeting at 1:00.
Present were Suzy, Lynn, Bill, Mary & Tim.
Bill shared information about his photography display on November 15th at the Co-Op.
Bob emailed in a treasury balance of $1010.06.
For the pc there were 5 photos that each got 1 vote, so no clear winner. We decided to vote again next month, when there will be more members present. Only some of the photos used sub-framing, the rest were traditional framing. There was some discussion about using edits to emphasize depth of field along with framing.
Bill, Mary and Tim presented their edit challenge photos; the results were quite good and similar for each.
We watched a video on-line about new features in ON1 2026. Some felt ON1 should concentrate more on refining existing features rather than adding new ones to what has become a rather crowded screen. The library wifi worked well during this presentation.
Next Bill played a video featuring Tom Mangelsen’s wildlife photography with spectacular pictures. The emphasis was on the importance of willingness to wait for the right shot.
Bill then shared a PowerPoint presentation with useful Tips and Tricks for photographers.
We briefly discussed a Holiday Dinner sometime in December, and the group thought it would be a nice idea. Three possibilities for a restaurant came up: Colatina Exit in Bradford, Gordi’s Fish and Steak, and the Red Fox Bar & Grill in Jackson – all take reservations, and some might require that reservations be requested by early December. Hopefully the moderator for December (Scott) can solicit members by email before our next meeting about preferences and what dates work for everyone.
The meeting adjourned (approximately) at 2:45.
