Here in the North Country we often have to travel southward for things such as specialized medical care, a modern shopping mall, a favorite restaurant, etc. Tim Williams was the impetus behind organizing our camera club near Littleton NH. By use of social networking resources it was apparent there were photography enthusiasts who jumped at the possibility of joining a camera club near Littleton NH. We are fortunate to live in a veritable photographer’s paradise with snow covered mountains, sparkling rivers and streams, and colorful fall foliage. There is little wonder that our camera club near Littleton NH has dedicated and enthusiastic members from throughout this wonderfully picturesque North Country that we live in. Come join us!
A Notch Above Photography Club - A Camera Club in the North Country of NH
The Notch Above Photography Club was started to fill a void in the North Country. There simply was no camera club close by. Meeting from 1 to 3:30 PM on the 2nd Saturday of each month at the Bethlehem NH Public Library, the Notch Above Photography Club fills a unique need for a camera club in the Littleton area of the North Country above Franconia Notch.
At the Notch Above Photography Club we schedule topics of interest that will appeal to the diverse experience of our members. Monthly presentations at the Notch Above Photography Club include equipment demonstrations, on-line videos by experts in their field, photo “showcases”, talks by our more experienced members and PowerPoint slide shows.
Some of our members at the Notch Above Photography Club are beginners while others have more expertise. Our philosophy is two-fold and based on mutual respect. We believe those with more experience can and should share their knowledge without talking down to beginners. But it is also possible for every member to contribute. After all, even “experts” can learn something from the rest of us.
Therefore, although the Notch Above Photography Club is barely 6 months old, we have already covered a number of topics. The exposure triangle, camera controls, how to choose a camera, mirrorless vs. DSLR, long exposures and the advantages of shooting in RAW are just some of the topics we have explored at our meetings. As fall approaches we hope to schedule some field trips or photo walks to enjoy and photograph our beautiful surroundings in the North Country. And we have lots more coming, based on our members’ interests.
