September 19th 2026
Bob began the meeting at 1:00 with Lynn, Bill, Tim, Mary, Clay, and Scott on hand. Also with us was guest speaker, Chris J.
Following our catch-up segment Bob reported a treasury balance of $878.30. A special thanks to Tim for providing members a handout with the results of his research concerning how to best convert an image from color to b/w.
Bill took top honors in the Photo Contest (topic: Black & White) with his image, ‘No End in Sight.’
Chris was a U.S. Army Photojournalist stationed in Vietnam during 1970 – 1971. His role was to travel with combat troops to capture both images and video footage. During his presentation, Chris shared his personal memories, offered insightful commentary, and answered questions from our members. We’re grateful to Chris for taking the time to be with us and especially for his service.
Next, Bob presented PowerPoint slides and several personal images to demonstrate how AI can be used to critique and refine photos. This resulted in a lively discussion with members sharing how they use AI for photography and various other purposes.
This was followed by the Edit Challenge with Bill, Bob, Mary, Tim, and Scott sharing their work.
The Photo Contest topic for October will be ‘Foliage.’ Members also discussed a field trip after the foliage has dropped to photograph ‘sticks.’
